Tattoo Removal

Having second thoughts about your tattoo? Medical lasers use an intense beam of light to significantly lighten or remove your tattoo. Different wavelengths of light treat different colors of ink. When the ink particles of your tattoo absorb the light from the laser, they are broken up into tiny fragments. These fragments are then absorbed through your body’s natural cleansing mechanism. This process generally takes a few weeks.

At Natura Dermatology & Cosmetics, we use the state of the art PicoWay Laser for tattoo removal. Very few doctors in South Florida offer this laser. What makes PicoWay so different than other lasers you may have experienced is it’s unique picosecond laser technology. Unlike traditional lasers, PicoWay delivers energy to the targeted ink in ultra-short pulses that are so fast, they’re measured in picoseconds, which is one trillionth of a second.

What Makes Tattoos So Difficult To Remove With Traditional Lasers?

Depth: Since tattoo ink is injected into the dermis, below the skin, it makes it harder to remove.

Ink Particle Size: The bigger the ink particle size, the harder it is to remove a tattoo. Traditional lasers tattoo removal can be used to break up ink particles but sometimes remaining ink particles are still too large, even after multiple laser treatments.

Color: While blues and blacks are easy to treat, other colors such as reds and yellows can be very difficult to remove.

Skin Tone: With most lasers, darker skin tones are harder to treat because too much energy can be absorbed into the skin rather than the targeted ink particles – weakening the results and increases the risk of injury.

PicoWay Laser Tattoo Removal

The PicoWay Difference.

Fewer Treatments: The PicoWay Laser is FDA cleared for a wide range of tattoos, offering better results in fewer treatments for different skin types.

Faster Results: With PicoWay’s ultra-fast delivery of concentrated, high-power energy, even tiny ink particles will be shattered making it easier for the body to clear the tattoo ink.

Minimized Risk: PicoWay’s ultra-short pulses also optimize the delivery of energy to the targeted ink particles ensuring the ink is effectively treated, while the least amount of heat gets transferred into the skin.

Minimal Discomfort: Since PicoWay’s pulses are fast, you’ll feel minimal discomfort throughout the procedure.
